WHAT CHALLENGE DID THE CUSTOMER COME WITH?

Wellington City Council, in collaboration with the Botanic Garden, faced the challenge of modernising the existing playground within Wellington Botanic Garden. The key objective was to create a contemporary space that would meet users’ needs while harmonising with the garden’s unique character and reflecting its educational role – including the importance of bees in the ecosystem.

WHAT DID WE DO IN THE PROJECT?

With the support of Creo Playspace, a refreshed and conceptually cohesive playground was developed, combining modern solutions with nature-inspired themes. The design incorporated elements referencing the world of plants and insects, creating a space not only for play but also for exploration and experiential learning. The entire project was carefully designed to complement the botanical garden setting and highlight its distinctive character.

WHAT DID THE CUSTOMER GAIN FROM THE PROJECT?

Wellington City Council gained a modern and attractive playground that enhances the offering of Wellington Botanic Garden and attracts both residents and visitors. The space supports active play, environmental education, and the development of ecological awareness, becoming an integral part of the garden and its mission.
