Every collection reaches a moment when it begins to tell its own story. From the very beginning, we knew that Organiq would draw its inspiration from nature. First came the first animal-themed designs, then new ideas, new sketches, and new concepts. Over time, it became clear that this world still had plenty of room for more characters. Today, two new friends join the collection: Hummingbird and Cat. Although they couldn’t be more different, they share one thing in common. Both were inspired by careful observation of the natural world and by a desire to create playground equipment that is not only visually distinctive, but above all encourages children to move, explore, and invent their own stories through play.
The Hummingbird project started with a completely different question. How can a swing become an integral part of the structure instead of looking like an attachment? While developing the concept, our 3D Designer Paweł Nosal was searching for a form that would naturally accommodate a longer structural element. The answer came from nature itself. The hummingbird’s distinctive beak turned out to be the perfect solution. Later, Radosław Górski, CAD Designer, joined the project, and together they refined every detail, from the proportions of the bird’s silhouette to the structural solutions hidden inside the design.
“I wanted to create a design where the swing would become an integral part of the entire structure. While searching for the right form, I chose a hummingbird because its beak perfectly suited the swing frame. However, the structure still needed support on the opposite side… and that’s when we came up with the idea of adding a flower, the very flower from which hummingbirds collect nectar.” – Paweł Nosal, 3D Designer
Surprisingly, the element that sparked the most discussion was… the flower. For a long time, there was uncertainty about how it would be received. It quickly became one of the most recognizable features of the entire playground. And for good reason. In nature, hummingbirds feed on nectar, so the flower is far more than a decorative detail. It completes the story the playground tells and strengthens the connection between the animal and its environment.
The Hummingbird is also the first Buglo playground to feature a newly developed solution that connects the wings without any visible fixing elements. The result is a clean, lightweight appearance that keeps the focus exactly where it belongs, on the character itself. The innovative engineering solution was developed by Mariusz Starczewski, Buglo’s Head of Research & Development. To make the play experience even more enjoyable, the swing has also been extended by 30 cm, providing greater comfort and freedom of movement.
Not every idea reaches the playground immediately. For a long time, the Cat kept reappearing in the sketchbook of our 3D Designer, Magdalena Pacek. It wasn’t until she began observing her own cat, Lusia, that the project truly found its personality. Lusia’s curiosity, graceful movements, and unmistakably feline poses became the inspiration behind the newest character in the Organiq collection.

The oversized ball of yarn became a natural extension of the concept. It is not only one of the playground’s defining visual features but also an engaging climbing and sliding element. The idea came directly from Lusia’s favorite pastime-rolling her little ball around the house.
Although cats are among the most familiar animals, transforming one into a safe, manufacturable playground proved to be one of the team’s greatest design challenges. Jakub Popławski, CAD Designer, was responsible for turning Magdalena’s sketches into a production-ready design. Every detail had to preserve the original character while meeting technical requirements and international safety standards.
“The Cat may look simple, but it was one of our most demanding projects. I wanted to preserve the spirit of Magdalena’s original sketch while adapting it for production. We constantly searched for the right balance between aesthetics and engineering, so many elements-including the head and body, went through several iterations. It was a long process of testing and refinement, but today I can honestly say the final result made every effort worthwhile.” – Jakub Popławski, CAD Designer
From the very beginning, Organiq was designed to be more than a collection of playground equipment. Every new character brings its own story, inspires imaginative play, and encourages children to discover the world through movement, creativity, and exploration. The Hummingbird has already spread its wings. The Cat has settled beside its giant ball of yarn. Now it’s time for countless new adventures to begin.
