Knuthenborg Safaripark wanted to enhance the offering in its Monkey Forest with a playground that would attract children of different ages and blend harmoniously into the park’s natural surroundings. The client was looking to create a space where children could actively and creatively spend time – ideally by imitating the playful movements of monkeys – while parents could relax in comfortable conditions.
Elverdal designed and delivered a playground using elements from the Flora Play collection – perfect for climbing, balancing and roleplay. The space invites active play while also offering areas to rest, surrounded by tall green “grass” and wooden elements that fit naturally into the Monkey Forest landscape. Additional sheltered zones were created to protect from sun and rain – ideal for parents watching their children at play.
Knuthenborg Safaripark gained an attractive and functional play space for children of various ages, along with an aesthetic, nature-inspired solution that perfectly complements the atmosphere of the park. Families visiting the Monkey Forest can now spend more time outdoors. The playground has become a new attraction that enhances the guest experience.
