As is often the case at Buglo, it all started with a playground. We gave a playset a second life and found the perfect home for it: a Family Children’s Home in Koszalin run by Mrs Sylwia – a woman with a heart big enough for ten children (and a few furry friends). But that was just the beginning. Our charity team was ready to jump in!
Mrs Sylwia has been running the Family Children’s Home for several years. She’s adapted a house on the outskirts of town to perfectly suit the children’s needs. The garden, however, needed a little love – there was no proper play area, and never enough time to bring it to life. That’s where the Buglo team came in!
A playground for the children
Thanks to the dedication of our assembly crew, a Buglo playground appeared in Mrs Sylwia’s garden in no time. The children were playing on it before we could even pack away our tools. Not long after, we heard the best news: the kids now spend most of their free time right there, outside the house.
But we knew we wanted to do more. At Buglo, we have an amazing team that volunteers for charity work. Together, we decided that a playground wasn’t enough. We wanted to spend time with the kids and give them a summer weekend to remember.
A day with the Buglo team
Armed with paints, tools, plants and a handful of plans, we set out to transform the garden with the children. We built a new flower bed, planted flowers, and turned the fence into an art gallery. Each child added their own creative touch. With every little change, the space came to life – and the kids dove in with full enthusiasm.
When the work was done, we all sat down at the table to enjoy some pizza, looking out at a garden that, just hours earlier, had looked completely different.
But that’s not the end
It really was a good day. Saying goodbye to the family wasn’t easy. So we invited the children – and Mrs Sylwia – to join our Safe Child Academy. We’ll show them how playgrounds are made, from sketch to finished structure, and teach them the basics of first aid. We want the garden weekend to be just the beginning!
